This is a large red light therapy pad and covers a lot of ground er body at one time. It gets very warm and feels great against my skin. I don't know if it was a fluke, but i had a crick on my shoulder and using this on high for 30 minutes, eased up the pain - day 2 i used it again and the crick was gone. Normally i have to take ibuprophen for a couple days to get rid of a 2 or 3 day crick - i didn't need any ibuprophen this time. I also have nerve damage in my left thumb that travels up to my wrist. It used to just be numb with the occasional weird feeling if i touched it in a certain spot, but has started actually hurting lately and making it difficult to grip anything in that hand. This red light therapy seems to give it some relief. Less pain. The bottoms of my feet also hurt so bad some days that i can barely walk when i wake up. I am starting to shuffle like my granny, now i know why she was always shuffling - i never knew she was in pain. In general i am also just put together incorrectly where my legs connect to my hips and my back bone is slightly crooked- similar to scoliosis - i was told i wouldn't be able to walk by the time i was 30 - well, in my 50's and still walking - but physical therapy doesn't help those things for me at all. In fact it made them worse, so i quit doing the exercises and even tried a chiropractor. Nothing is useful. I've tried mushrooms per a hippy's advice, and that also did nothing. I've been using this pad a few nights now and this red light therapy pad actually "seems" to be offering some relief, taking the "edge" off. I have tried hot water bottles and a couple different kinds of heating/massaging pads and a shake machine - they do not offer the amount of relief this seems to be offering me. I don't know why this thing works - it isn't anything major - but any amount of relief from the constant pain i am in , i will take it. Because i have tried so many things with no improvement, but i want to remain natural without medication for as long as possible, and i seem to be experiencing some relief with just a short time of using for several days, I am going to say it works. So for me this is worth it.
